‘About Time: Electricity+Freedom’ is a zine about the liberating effect of electronic music. Created by Jo Johnson, on the occasion of the Huggy Bear book launches in November 2024, her first zine in “about 30 years.” Build upon Jo’s thinking around Killed (of Kids) and the connections/divisions between Huggy Bear and her solo practice, the zine is bracingly honest about the allure of electronic music and Jo’s path to it. In addition to Jo’s writing about her practice, the zine also includes contributions by musicians C. Lavender and Bea Brennan, as well as a snapshot from Jo’s 1993 diary.
